Developments
The McAuley Place project is comprised of three developments:
Sheltered Housing
The redevelopment of the convent building and gardens to provide 53 apartments for older persons and a community coffee shop.
Community Centre
The redevelopment of the parish centre to a modern community centre on three floors, with wheelchair access.
The new community centre is designed to provide large meeting / activity rooms, counselling rooms, a soundproof rehearsal space, a fully-fitted kitchen and wheelchair accessible toilets.
These facilities will be available to the whole community.
Chapel
The restoration of the nuns’ chapel to provide a venue for classical, traditional, contemporary and multi-cultural music, dance and art.
This facility will also be accessible to the whole community.
